South Africa names Neil McKenzie as their batting coach for the West Indies Test series

During the next two-match Test series against the West Indies, which starts on February 28, Neil McKenzie will serve as South Africa’s batting advisor, Cricket South Africa (CSA) said on Thursday.

A permanent batting coach will be selected later, according to a statement from Cricket South Africa. The Test series will be the new head coach Shukri Conrad’s first duty since taking the position earlier this month. He will work with the former South African batter. As bowling coach, Charl Langeveldt will serve his final series before being replaced by Piet Botha, who was just hired.

Botha made 118 first-class appearances over the course of a more than ten-year career. After previously holding the positions of bowling coach for the Lions of Johannesburg and head coach of the Warriors on the domestic circuit, he most recently held the position of head coach of South Western Districts. Also, he provided bowling advice to South Africa A and the National Academy.
